We believe that each child is a unique individual.
We desire to serve the best interests of the children in our care.
We believe that we can best do this by modeling respect, kindness, and love.
We believe that parents are the first and primary educators of their children. Parents trust us to supplement and complement the formation of ideas and values that begin at home.
Our policy is to encourage and invite parents to observe and experience our program at any time.
At Happyland, we understand how hard it is to leave your children while you work. For that reason, we have an open door policy that allows parents to come by anytime to check on your child. We encourage parents to drop by and observe and participate in classroom activities. We also welcome parents to join the Happyland Child Care Center Parent Association. Parents and grandparents help plan the Fall Festival, Field Trips, Christmas Coffee, and other special events throughout the year. We believe our center is only as good as our volunteers and are very proud of the parents we serve.
It starts with Parents
We encourage parents to stop by the center and volunteer. Reading with or to the students, playing on the playground, or during program events. You are always welcome.
Creative expression is encouraged through play and classroom activities. With commitment and affection, we develop a love for learning and the desire to become life long achievers. Our school is a safe, nurturing, compassionate, learning environment.
Children, parents, and teachers are mutually respected and trusted. Our professional and dedicated teachers encourage each child to be confident of his or her abilities and sensitive to the needs of others. We provide a well-balanced and developmentally appropriate curriculum which encourages social growth. We value open communication with parents which helps reinforce what is learned at home and in school.
A Great Place To Be
Rev. and Mrs. Louis Craig opened the center in 1996. As part of the hiring process, the names of all potential employees are sent to the Arkansas Child Abuse and Neglect Registry for investigation. We also send each name to the State Police for a criminal background check. Any employee who is new to our state, must have his/her fingerprints sent to the FBI for a national background check. We always check all professional references for new staff members. All staff must receive a T.B. test each year.
All staff members are highly trained and ready to support your child’s physical and mental development. There are two certified teachers on staff to ensure your child’s education gets off to a great start. In case of emergency, all teachers and staff are trained to give emergency care including CPR. We think your child is special and deserves extra special attention. You can be assured that you are leaving your child in experienced and loving hands. Just like you, we want the very best for your child.
Happyland Child Care, Inc. is a private non-sectarian preschool, licensed by the Arkansas Department of Health. Children are admitted without regard to race, color, religious creed, handicap, ancestry, national origin or sex.
Scheduling a school tour is the first step in the application process. Private tours are given throughout the year. We do not interview or pre-test applicants. Instead, we explain our policies and philosophies carefully and allow parents to decide whether the Nursery is a good match for their family. This allows for a diverse mix of children in the classroom.
You may visit alone or with your child as many times as necessary to help you feel comfortable with our program.
